Follow up participation Consortium Bioexport Emilia-Romagna in BIOFACH 2012 PDF Print E-mail

Biofach 2012 represents the 18th consecutive participation of Consortium Bioexport Emilia-Romagna in the most important international fair as far as the organic sector is concerned. Really a record which joins to the fact that, still nowadays, after 20 years from its constitution, Bioexport is the only one promotional Consortium among certified producers of organic foodstuff both on national and European territory. This kind of structure, already from the first Biofach exhibitions which took place in Frankfurt, is of great interest for the buyers who find, just in one coordinate and harmonic frame, various products, representative of a whole territory: Emilia-Romagna. Most of our products are at km 0, at high traceability and of certified quality. At every edition of Biofach, our Consortium presents new products: for this year edition we have exhibited:

  • Pasta from cultivable hemp

  • New gluten free products from rice and maize

  • A new assortment of vegetarian and vegan dishes

  • Moreover, as all through 2012 kamut won’t be at disposal because of the damaged harvesting, the companies that use kamut flour have presented products based on “ Senatore Cappelli”, an Italian corn, really a good substitution of Kohrasan. We are also studying other possibilities to use local grains for organic bakery, confectionery and pasta.

  • Balsamic vinegars and organic condiments

  • Dried fruit and organic liquor from walnuts: Nocino

As to the visitors, our impression is that some factors have led to a decrease of the presences, the official figures state a – 30% in comparison with the two previous editions. In any case we have had good contacts and we do want to be optimistic stating that the people who have visited the fair notwithstanding exceptional snowfalls all over Europe, strikes, economic crises and so on, have fully shown their real interest in the fair and in the organic world. Our opinion is that many of them came from eastern Europe and the Balcans- Mediterranean areas which are more and more interested in the organic sector. This is a further confirmation that our choices have been correct, we have been insisting for years on these geographic areas currently included in our project “ BIO 2012: international events between business and culture for organic “.
